Oscar Chalupsky ( pictured above in yellow 18X kayak) is a 12 time World Surfski Champion from Durbin, South Africa, who recently won his 12th World Championship at the age of 49 years old.
Oscar will spend one hour of the clinic instructing out of the water on the deck of the marina, and then spend the last 2 hours of instruction in the water. In addition, Oscar will talk about training and peaking for a big event and how he was able to win a World Championship at 49 years old this past May.
Participants should park at the "Coast Guard Boat Ramp" off the Willis Avenue Bridge at the Wolf River Harbor and paddle a short distance to the Harbor Town Marina.
Space for this class is limited to the first 20 who sign up for the clinic. To sign up, contact Joe Royer at joeroyer@outdoorsinc.com, and the first 20 who sign up will be accepted. Oscar charges $100 for his clinic and payments should be made directly to him.
Immediately after the clinic, Outdoors Inc will provide lunch to all participants to include Gus' Fried Chicken, Fat Tire Beer, Mountain Valley Water and a good quality South African wine in Oscar's honor. Lunch will be from 2:30pm - 4:00pm 2 miles from the ramp at a place overlooking the Mississippi River, and directions will be given at the clinic.
